The secret is...
You perform
the way you practice!

The mice from the CMJO have come to the Recital
They wiggle their ears when they like the music
*Millie Mouse - violinist & *Geoffrey Human - accompanist
Vitali Chaconne in g minor by Tomaso Vitale Romanza Andaluza by Pablo de Sarasate Violin Sonata in A Major by César Franck
Preparing for a recital
Scales are the primary study.
Play scales for warmup before a performance.
Use the keys your solo is in.
Preparation of your technic
took place while you were studying your etudes.
A good performer needs complete technical mastery with an interpretation that is convincing to everyone.
The best performance appears as an improvisation in which the violinist is moved by the music.
The truly artistic interpretation cannot be taught.
Only a personal approach is truly artistic.
Tone, pitch and rhythm are the basic elements for a good performance.
Technic needs to combine with interpretion for successful performance.
Arrive at least 20 minutes before the performance
Dress nicely, and try playing in the outfit you have chosen to wear.
Be sure to practice playing in the shoes you plan to wear.
If you pracetice well and are prepared
you will not need to be a scared mouse,
like this poor little scared mouse,
and can perform with confidence.
